Terms of Service
Last updated: July 17, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of Acceptly (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, and you represent that you have that permission. By using the Service you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you are legally able to enter into these Terms.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it up to date.
- Notify us promptly at sahoo.ayush23@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
3. What the Service is, and isn't
Acceptly is a planning and organization tool for college applications. It provides estimates, suggestions, and information to help you plan. It is not professional, legal, financial, or admissions counseling, and it does not guarantee any outcome. Admission decisions, financial-aid awards, and deadlines are determined solely by the schools and organizations involved, not by Acceptly.
Admission-chance estimates and fit scores are informational planning tools, not predictions. Data such as acceptance rates, test ranges, costs, and deadlines is drawn from public sources (including the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard) and, for some fields, estimated. It may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate, so always confirm important details, especially deadlines and costs, on a school's official website before relying on them.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you create or upload, including essays, profile information, and community submissions ("Your Content"). You grant Acceptly a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you, for example, to save your essays, generate advice, and display any profile you choose to publish. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for content you made public that others have already saved, or copies retained as required by law.
You are responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights to submit it and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights.
5. Community content and submissions
If you publish your profile or add a profile to community features (such as Admitted Students), you agree that the information will be visible to other users. You must not impersonate anyone, submit false or misleading information, or post another person's private information without permission. We may review, remove, or refuse any submission at our discretion.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to access.
- Scrape, copy, or resell the Service or its data except as expressly permitted.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or bypass its security or rate limits.
- Upload malware or content that is illegal, infringing, harassing, or hateful.
- Misrepresent your identity or another person's admissions results.
7. Third-party services
The Service integrates with and links to third parties (for example Google sign-in, our hosting and AI providers, and colleges' official websites). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, and branding (excluding Your Content and third-party data), is owned by Acceptly and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own college-application planning. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY INFORMATION, ESTIMATE, OR RECOMMENDATION IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ACCEPTLY AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ADMISSIONS OUTCOMES, OPPORTUNITIES, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR USD $50.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Acceptly and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
13. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Acceptly is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located there, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
